Whether worn as a sarong for the beach, or draped around you to fend off the cold, a beautifully designed wrap is a very stylish accessory and a must have for any wardrobe.
We simply love the stunning prints from Dog & Boy. Based in Melbourne, designer Sonya Michele has embodied her love for life and the beauty she sees in the everyday into her unique designs, creating a line of distinctive scarves that can be worn as wraps or sarongs.
Each one, very different in the use of pattern and colour, tells it’s own story. Moments in time are captured and brought to life in her designs. Each one a visual treat to the eye, they tell of the pleasures and emotions that we experience everyday, all we need to do it look.
Digitally printed onto a blend of premium quality cotton and silk (70/30), they’re luxuriously soft and surprisingly durable, though do take care when wearing your scarf with jewellery, zips, or near metal and sharp objects as the lightweight fabric can be prone to snags and pulls.
They’re also very easy to care for, just hand-wash in cool water when required with a mild detergent, roll in a towel to remove excess water and then line dry in shade.
Not sure how to wear one? Here are some simple styling tips:
1. Let it flow.
Simply drape the scarf around your shoulders to show off the detail of the design and add a touch of colour and glamour to your outfit.
2. The Classic loop.
Ss above, drape the scarf around your shoulders, one side longer than the other. Take the longer end and loosely wrap around your neck.
3. Cowboy Chic.
Similar to the classic loop, but using a square scarf so you don’t get the length, just a burst of detail.
4. The Shawl
Perfect to keep your shoulders warm in an air conditioned office, drape the wrap over your shoulders and back like a shawl, far more stylish than a cardigan.
5. The Halterneck.
Can’t find that perfect top? Why not style your sarong into a stylish, signature item, perfect with tailored pants or skirt for the evening, or with shorts for the day.
6. The head scarf.
Perfect for keeping your hair off your face, and a great way to add a bit of boho chic to any look.
7. The tied sarong.
If you’re heading to the pool or beach, loosely wrap the sarong around your body, take two corners and tie around the back of your neck, a cool and classy way to cover your body whilst on the move.
These are just a few of the many ways you can use one of these gorgeous scarves. Have some fun, show off your individual flair and style your own unique fashion accessory, a simple yet incredibly dramatic way to spice up your current wardrobe.
